Restoring Structural Balance with Myofascial Release
Tension in the fascia system of the body can cause more than pain; it can also cause structural imbalances that lead to bad posture and pain. The tension in the fascia can be relieved with gentle treatments of myofascial release which unwinds the fascia and allows the muscle to move more freely, thus allowing the body to more freely and more naturally, resulting in the restoration of structural balance in the patient.
Structural imbalances can be caused by a number of bad things such as a history of bad posture, scar tissue, injuries, and chronic pain. It causes sharp pains in the part of the body where the nerve damage has caused inflammation and is difficult to diagnose, let alone deal with permanently. Many people opt for things like pain killers and cold packs, but these things can get expensive and may not necessarily work. A cold pack especially only works if it is applied as soon as there is an injury and doesn’t do anything for scar tissue or chronic pain. Although the imbalance may seem like nothing more than something that has to be stretched out every morning, it constantly wears down at the system until something worse happens and ends in pain and emotional suffering. Like anything else, structural imbalances are best dealt with as early as possible.
Myofascial release can aid in bringing balance back the structure of the body by unwinding tense fascia and relaxing muscles that you may not even have realized were taut before they relaxed. Myofascial release also works on relieving scar tissue and bad posture. All these things work towards bringing balance back to the muscles and skeletal structure and thus bring relief back to the patient, even if he or she hasn’t realized his or her suffering before the treatment. Restoring structural balance is an important part of restoring someone who has been suffering from an injury or other pains and will allow the person to heal in a way that he or she may not have been able to before.
