An Alternative Treatment for Arthritis

Arthritis is caused by a swelling and damage of the joints which causes inflammation, pain, and stiffness. Arthritis is a very common problem for many people and there are only a few ways to deal with it, and most of them are by no means permanent. Many people simply accept arthritis as a fact of life as a result. However, there are alternative medicines for arthritis which many doctors overlook because they are alternative. One of this is myofascial release which targets the inflammation and tension in your joints through gentle massages a few times a week. These massages will target your joints specifically as opposed to other treatments which only target the general areas or pain medicines which diffuse throughout the entire body and so are less effective.

Myofascial release is best used for rheumatoid arthritis, the more common strain of arthritis. This is because it works to stretch and relax the fascia around the joints and muscles and so lets the joints and muscles relax and stretch as well. Although it may take a few sessions in order to see true improvement, even after one or two, you will feel a great deal of relief. There is hope even for long time sufferers, so there is no reason to live with arthritis if you do not have to. Myofascial release is an alternative treatment and comes with its own risks and side effects, such as increased pain for a short time before it vanishes, slight nausea and emotional change; but if it works, it is well worth it. After all, drugs and surgery rarely help for the long term in arthritis and many search for something that will work without putting the sufferer out.

The treatment may involve a deeper massage than treatments for other conditions because in order to treat arthritis, one needs a deep myofascial release treatment. This is because it is the deep muscles and joints that are out of alignment, nothing on the surface. This means that the treatments may take longer, but will have a deeper impact on your pain and arthritis symptoms. For many people, myofascial release is a godsend for people who are suffering from arthritis and have tried many other things to little or no effect. If you are suffering from arthritis and have had difficulty finding a solution, give myofascial release a try; you may be pleasantly surprised by the results.
